Montreal Beggar I

he was staring...
I'm not sure if at me, or into the matter of space and time, contemplating, perhaps, the purpose of being
was he noticing his beard's growth?
was he envious of the boy with the camera?
was he beholding me with pitty?
was he wondering if i know the message of God?
did he stand beside a monumental monument dedicated to the creator of the universe in order to feel closer to him?

i don't know, but he most certainly had a great expression and was one of the few homeless people in Montreal who did not protest in having his picture taken
